Right, I know there's a few Harlow types around here. I need to get to the Square tomorrow night, seeing the Quireboys. I'll have to get the train, as I'm still unable to drive, so...what's the best way to get station > Square? Everyone I've spoken to has always driven there, so have no idea what sort of distance it is, or if it goes through anywhere I might particularly want to avoid late at night after it finishes. Idea of how long it takes to walk? Pressure to get from Cambridge, back to Saffron Walden, then to Harlow, then to the Square so times are all a bit tight..

Ta very much

after watching an 'i love 1990' proggy last night, I now fully remember who the quireboys were.

Hey, each to their own.
Just because I don't like them, doesn't mean they suck.

Except for The Darkness. They really do

Pfft I dislike the darkness, but possibly :p

Still cheers. I was ready for any comments about them before starting this anyway - though, I wouldn't say hair metal. Hair stumbling about on stage and growling a bit. They lack the shredding guitars, and have..pianos..

Still, they were good supporting Thunder, and 'tis only £8

It's walkable in about 15 mins if that.
Come out the station, follow the road to the right until you leave the station area up the hill.
Go straight over the roundabout and walk up past the ski-slope.
Go past Sainsburys and go right at the next roundabout, walk down that road for about 5 mins and you'll see The Square on your right after the YMCA.

Got it?
Top of station road
Over roundabout
Past Sainsburys
Right at next roundabout
Straight ahead for 5 mins or so, Square on your right after the YMCA tower

The Quireboys eh?
Maaaan, I didn't know they were still going.
Hair metal enjoying a resurgence thanks to the dog-ass that is The Darkness.

There's a cab rank at Harlow station, and it takes about 2 minutes to get from there to The Square. It's just over the road from Harlow Town Centre, which is just up the road. Shouldn't cost more than a few quid. It's not a particularly troublesome place around there, the trendies tend to fear things they don't understand.

If you pay attention in the cab, you could probably walk back to the station, it's just down the hill.

The Quireboys, eh? Should I have heard of them? Last good band I saw at The Square was The Datsuns, and that was about a year ago. Tsk.
