Konami have today announced that Castlevania and Konami
Krazy Racers are to go on sale in Europe on the same day as
Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance console itself (22nd June). Both
games have been well received in Japan with Castlevania
selling out within four days of hitting the shelves. Konami Krazy
Racers is the European version of the popular Wei Wei Racing,
and features many of Konami’s famous characters (including
Ninja from MGS and Goemon) in a fun cart racing game.
The Japanese publisher also plans to have three more Game
Boy Advance games on the shelves by September. Though
exact details haven’t been released, Konami have revealed that
there will be games based on skateboarding and golf, as well as
a high profile movie licence. Sadly, the launch line-up doesn’t
include an ISS title but Konami plan to release another six titles
before April 2001, and they’ve stated that one of these titles will
definitely be an ISS game.
Konami has always promised to deliver the goods on Game Boy
Advance and the latest announcements seem to prove their
point. Konami of Europe President Kunio Neo stated, "Our policy
is to develop the best software for the most popular machines.
There can be little doubt that Nintendo’s GBA will be a major
success and Konami will be there from the launch to meet
consumer demands." Watch out for previews of Castlevania and
Crazy Racers, Konami’s first Game Boy Advance games
