Its just a quick way to make a buck. Hype it up with well known charcters then let it get slaughtered by anyone who isnt 10 years old.
This reminds me of when they did that WWF Racing game...which was stupid. Why go from wrestlers in a ring pretending to hit each other to Wrestlers in stupid cards racing against each other?

Heh, they've used the "rubbish spin off from mini game" technique. Works well if the franchise is uber popular. Like, Mario popular. Otherwise no.
