I want something that will enable me to make GIF's without putting a watermark in the finishing product.
When you install the GIMP on any system - Windows or Linux - you have to make a conscious decision and statement that you don't live in the US.
Well the linux version ;) comes with GIF inbuiltm you have to download a patch for the windows one.
Does the GIMP support GIF? GIF is a proprietary format, and they'd want money from the makers of the GIMP for them to use it in their program.
