Complete 007: Bond collection (second sreies) on DVD? If so is it actually worth £150? I have my finger hovering over the purchase button but would like to know if there are any benefits from buying the complete box set outside of the fact you get a nice silver tin to keep them in.

Cheers!

the benefit from buying the complete box set is that you get every bond, apart from that crappy never say never again.

that's all the benefit you need, surely.

I'd buy it right now if I wasn't a snivelling student tramp.

The fact is I already have about 110 DVD's that are supposedly far superior and I plan to finish it off with a purchase of the Soprano's box sets 1 through to 5. Apart from the very odd few films there aren't all that many I am interested in. Yesterday I ordered the Scum/Chopper/Romper Stomper mini box set which is about the only original style/set of films I want to see/own out of the ones I already have. The Bond box set would finish everything off.

Bond films are generally good. Some are excellent (e.g. Goldfinger, Goldeneye), some are awful (e.g. Diamonds Are Forever, Die Another Day). It would be rather nice to own each one of DVD, having a full collection, but I really wouldn't say it was worth £150. You could by many, far superior films, on DVD for that amount of money.

If you are going to do it though, it better be sooner rather than later. After the absolutely diabolical Die Another Day, I can't see any more classics coming from the Bond franchise.

A better investment would be to stick £150 on Celtic to beat Teplice at 11/10. Free money I tells ya.

But the enw bond films aren't considered clasics and aside from Golden Eye none of them have lived up to the "original" colelction if you like. It would be nice to own all the classic bond films should I have said, thats where the investment will lie.

It's not really an investment. They'll sell this set of DVDs until they re-release them with new covers in a new tin. And then again.....and again....and again...and again....and again until we all forget why "P#ssy Galore" was almost funny in the first place.

Yes definitley, it will be a decent investment all round providign DVD's don't get replaced by mini DVD's!

Cheers for all the input.

I'd get the boxset (and use Die Another Day as an attractive coaster) and be done with it...but that's just me :) I wouldn't want to decide for you, It all really depends if you can justify the expense...if you can afford it then great :)

Even if they were there are 20 Bond titles which would make it £16.99/17.99 multiplied by 10 which would take it to £170 anyway. I am not interested in Die Another Day but the rest are all of decent quality.
