I feel it was legal. My evidence is UN resoultion 1441, i quote:-
"[The UN]Decides that Iraq has been and remains in material breach of its obligations under relevant resolutions, including resolution 687 (1991), in particular through Iraq’s failure to cooperate with United Nations inspectors and the IAEA, and to complete the actions required under paragraphs 8 to 13 of resolution 687 (1991);"

Others see it as illegal. It all depends on your point of view.
Yep, some people are angry at the coalition, but more are even angrier at the real problem - the loyalists and terrorists who almost certainly did this in the first place.
After all, throwing stones at one humvee is hardly a major sign of hating the coalition...
The whole point of the the attacks yesterday was, in my opinion, threefold;
1) Cause further questioning of the war and why we are there in the coalition countries. Many news organisations have taken great delight in reporting how this festival involved people hitting each other with swords, for example, and other "look at these weird people" style remarks.
2) Incite civil war between the 2 religious groups with the coalition caught in the middle.
3) Try and stir up resentment for the coalition in native Iraqis.
If we leave Iraq do any of you honestly think that is the problem solved? It'll get worse if anything and spread beyond Iraq.
