I know it seems weird
For someone to write in song
But this is about how Sega have been feared
For so very, very long.

THE SEGA SONG....... 48 years of Sega in one easy to read song!

Segal Games was their name
Making pinball machines was their game.

An Empire they created just like Darth Vader
And then it was, they changed their name to Sega.

They didn't do much until the 80s
When they released the Master System and became the greatest.

The Master System did quite well
But it couldn't stand up to the NES and fell.

Then from Sega's deepest, darkest hide
Came their newest system known as the Mega Drive.

This was class and everybody bought one
But despite this challenge, Nintendo fought on.

The big N then released the sequel to the NES.
They couldn't think of anything, so they called it the SNES.

Then the battle between Sonic and Mario began
But Mario was too dull so he got up and ran.

So, Sega took the crown of reigned
By releasing loads of triple-A games.

But Sega would have to run off and hide
When came the year of 1995.

They released the Saturn a 32-bit box
But everyone bought PlayStations and said that they rocked.

Sega struggled on, releasing tons of good games
NiGHTS, Sega Rally those were their names.

But this software wasn't enough
And Sega ended up sleeping it rough.

Sega weren't going without a fight
And so came the Dreamcast, their 128bit knight.

So in the November of '99
The Dreamcast was unleashed and it sold line by line.

And then it came out in Europe and the US
And by then Sony had unveiled their PS2 mess.

The Dreamcast was selling really quite well
But nobody knew what Sega was about to tell.

On the last day of January 2001
Sega decided to stop hardware production after so very long.

The hearts of every Sega fan sank
Thinking of having to live with PlayStation rank.

And now we have reached the end of this song
Which shows how Sega have lived on for so long.

What ya mean it don't rhyme? It does! It is actually based on a poem that is in the NEAB English Literature Anthology, so there. Believe me, there is room for bad poetry and not all poems rhyme. You could write an essay on my poem! Glad some of you liked it anyway.

Now I ask a few questions...
Answer simply yes or no

1) Should I write another song?
2) Do you like the song?
3) Do you know what poem it is based on?
4) Do you like PS2?

I had to study contemporary womens poetry for my A-Level English Literature.

No one can write bad poetry like someone that's studied it!
