You see there are two main types of gamers, the hardcore gamers (most of us in here) and then there are the normal gamers (The Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Gamers).
These normal gamers are ruining the market for all of us, they buy the games which are not worth the packaging they are sold in, this creates a vibe in the manufactures that they can get away with it, and in most cases 'WWTBAM' Eidos did. They sold over 1,200,000 copies, they release it multi-format and made an excellent profit for a poor game. What these buyers do is influence the companies into releasing games which are way from complete and need make up so bad that it would make a late night channel 5 films look good.
These gamers are ones which are either loaded with money or they just like poor quality games.
Then we have the hardcore division of gamers, the people who know what they are talking about when it comes to gaming, the people who take sides on the company they have favoured all there lifes, normally these people take sides with the company they first play there favorite game on.
This divison of hardcore gamers is the minority, we wait and wait for a top class 95%+ game and we see twenty or more games a week land on are shelves that aren't any good, we watch the sales rocket of the poor games and the sales of an excellent game do well with this minority.
We shouldn't really being allowing this to happen, we don't have the power to do anything but then again before you buy a new game in a shop and you see a kid looking at some poor games, go over and talk to yourself near him, talk out loud about the game in front of you that you know to be good, say 'this one did get an amazing review though', maybe just getting one kid to recognise the difference between a poor and excellent game, you can change the market a fraction.
Just think about it,
Thanks

>Also, aren't reviews
> what are written AFTER the games come out.
Magazines and the like usually get a pre-release copy so they can write nice things about it to encourage people to buy it.
If a game makes it to the shelves but has managed to aviod a review it's usually because it's a stinker, and they want to make some money from it before everyone knows just how bad it is.
:)
Smackdown 2 is a lot more fun.
Arguably, NM is better.
Arguably, SD is better.
D'you get my point??
>I don't think that this trend will change, another reason >companies develop for the PS2 is because SONY will allow >it to be released no matter what the reviews. Nintendo >won't allow this so lets just see what happens in the >future.
Well, why was Clayfighter on N64 released then??
Also, aren't reviews what are written AFTER the games come out.
Take time ovetr game developers we only expect the best so if delaying the game neads doing to make it the best then do it.
There are only a few companies that can be bothered to listen to the reaction of the public when releasing a game, NoMercy is arguably the better game compared to SD2 but SD2 is still in the charts because it got more promotion, this is not justice, an amazing game that deserved better got layed aside because of the alternative which I didn't think was anything compared.
I don't think that this trend will change, another reason companies develop for the PS2 is because SONY will allow it to be released no matter what the reviews. Nintendo won't allow this so lets just see what happens in the future.
Let us just watch.

We only want the best so we must make sure the best is what we get. If developers make a poor game the Companys like Nintendo and sony should say nope we are not having that on our system. Nintendo already do it on certain games such as Metroid but superman got through the net.
It's time we told developers that by making rubbish games we lose the trust in that company. If you want to be popular like Rare then a bad game is out of the question. If you can't make a good game then your in the wrong industry. I will not stand for it any more what gives developers the idea they can rip us off.
I feel strongly on this because there shouldn't be bad games out there because with the ammount of money the industry generates there should be no problem spending time, effort and money making the best games.
It is time that standards of games are raised.
Here's to the future
