Technology is always changing, you can see how much we have advanced in gaming from ten years ago if you compare the new-age consoles to the drainy Master System in 1989. And to my recent trip to the Dome in Greenwich I realised this even more. We can be in our games!

Its always got me down, you play the role of someone elses life and at the end feel you have done all that work for someone else. How about when you are playing in a multiplayer deathmatch over the net and always wonder what that multiplayer master looks like on the other side of the world. Well now a dream is coming true, you can be in your games, so now you can really feel like you are the superstar.

What currently happens which will be more widely used in the future is that you make yourself into an avatar. An avatar is a computer generated image of your body, a computer scans your body in 4 diffrent positions and you can then download your avatar to put into your favourite games. Games currently only avalible for this are The Sims, which really brings this to life as you can live your own life in 2 ways? and Quake 3, which means that you can star in a internet deathmatch and see how other people look like. This technology is only availble in the Dome in the Talk zone, you can download your avatar off of the website, but this rapidly advancing technology is exciting.

The olny main drawback to this technology is that people may fear and bring legal action into it. An example is the face scan technology on Perfect Dark which was scraped as people thought shooting each other was a violent and unneeded. But the good thing is that ypu and your friends can be in your game, the movement and detail is so realistic, it looks as though avatars are the future of gaming.
