A good example is Tekken Tag Tournament which when compared to Tekken 1,2,3 it is completely different as it is smoother, has new modes of play like Tekken Bowl mode which is quite fun and also the most important factor that seperates them is that Tekken Tag has a Tag system that Tekken 1,2 and 3 don't have. And also game that is different to the original is Street Fighter Ex3, Iss which was developed by a different team and not the one that make the ISS PRO on PS1 and the list goes on, NBA live 2001 and even Metal Gear Solid 2 which will have very many features that are not in the first one and will reflect on how Ps2 is powerful and you can also say its a different game from the first one. There is also GT3 which has often been delayed but this is because they are making it better and this time it will really be "as real as it gets".
Finally I'd like to say that the sequels we are seeing in PS2 are different games from their originals on PS1 because the games may have the same plot as their elders but they are different in graphis especially with power of the "emotion engine" and some of them even have a totally different gameplay and also the originals are pretty good like Shadow of Memories and Z.O.E.
It also looks like the X-box is going to have the same launch problems as Ps2, why? Hype is building up and it looks like us in the UK again have to pre-order it but fingers crossed for all those who are planning on getting it especially those who are not getting PS2 and waiting for the X-box. But by then the games for Ps2 will be looking much better as developers will have mastered it and the X-box will be at square one so there won't be much difference between X-box games at launch and the ones for PS2.
