02/24/2004. Newcastle have been rocked by the news that Lee Bowyer remains ineligible from European competitions after Uefa confirmed he is yet to serve a six-match ban due to an administrative error.
The midfielder was handed the suspension after being gound guilty of stamping on the head of a Malaga player while he was at Leeds United.
Since joining Newcastle the Magpies have played six European matches, but Uefa have declared that as Bowyer's name wasn't submitted on their player lists before each match he is yet to start the suspension.
