Well I haven't seen it yet, I don't want to know anything about it, so I haven't read your post.
I just hope that the topic title hasn't given too much away!
My favourite bit?
Former champ Jake "The Snake" Roberts on the circuit for old wrestlers, appearing in a barn in Minnesota, refusing to wrestle until the promoters got him some crack.
WWF: Family Fun.
And I rate wrestling as highly as I do Soap Operas.
"Who Shot Phil Mitchell??????" scream the papers
And nothing about "Milosevic arrested and will face trial for the annihilation of 2 1/2 million Ethnic Undesirables."
What a wonderful woooorld......

If you know yourself, it just doesn't work as well.
It's like reading all of the soap guides, then watching them, and not get any surprises or anything.
I think the daft character turns, and stupid stories are what makes the WWF what it is, so I'd rather not know what's going to happen!
I've just read the games topic and it is infact not a spoiler
What is it with this WWF stuff?
I've got Smackdown 2 because it's fun with play with mates, but watching it and worse, caring, seems a little strange to me.
It's scripted beyond belief, controlled via merchandising and celebrates the notion that "Excellence through physical brutality" is a good thing.
Celebrating someone because they are the "best fighter" should have died out with the Romans.
Gladiators, WWF, Big Brother....these programmes frighten me because they have no appeal other than tuning in to watch vaguely Arian idealism permeate everyday society.
The same is true in schools, sports heros are worshipped.
We live in a world where David Beckham earns £20,000 A WEEK, yet a teacher earn the same as someone that delivers milk.
Am I the only one that finds this offensive?
I'm usually jokey jokey, but it genuinely frightens me to see violence celebrated as a glorious thing.
And no,I'm not a pacifist, nor religious, nor easily offended by most things.
Just the notion of people tuning in to watch overpaid rednecks acting out gay S&M fantasy is dubious.
