The reason I haven't been on Messenger recently is because I got a problem with it! However I am in the process of getting it sorted and should be back online by Wednesday tha latest.

Just uninstall it, RBS, then install it again, they've just upgraded to the latest version, it could be that you got one of the old beta versions that just didn't work, try again.

The following webchat (edited to prevent personal data being disclosed) shows that at least we're not the only ones to consider Nintendo graphics are cartoony. It seems that this is a worldwide opinion:
