Rutger Hauer IS Nick Parker - blind Vietnam veteran, hellbent on rescuing his army buddy's son from the mob! It was crap. Apparently he was this martial arts expert, and he could her really well, which helped him beat up people firing machine guns at him, and coming at him with ninja swsords. All to rescue some brat who started crying like a girl at the end. The most confusing bit was how it ended. The main villain evil bad guy was struggling with boy's Dad on floor, but then it just cut to the end with family getting on bus and Hauer going off. Muuuuh - you're supposed to show some sort of payback for the good guys, but there was none. Anyway, it was quite bad, but whilst looking it up on IMDB I found out that Rutger Hauer and Sean Pertwee are both going to be in that Killzone game.

Heh, I was waiting on some kind of comment like that as soon as you said mentioned Beat's name.
God bless Takeshi's Castle.

Is this the one when he's wandering about with his walking stick, whacking folk on the shins, then in the face and stuff?

I seem to remember a driving seen of sorts on a desert like highway or something, and before that he had been walking along the edge of the road, and kicked somebody's ass.
Or something.

Is it that one?

There's a new movie (well, a remake anyhoo) coming out soon starring Beat Takeshi called Zatoichi about a blind swordsman. This has the advantage of having Beat Takeshi in it, and not having Rutger 'Bone Daddy' Haeur in it.

Hopefully there will be some light-hearted scenes in which the Emerald Guard try to sneak up on Zatoichi in giant panda suits before pelting him with foam cannonballs and pushing him in a dingy-looking river.

It's not a bad film if you don't take it too seriously.

Reasonable family entertainment, although another film tarnished with a crap kid actor.

Rutgers finest hour was blade runner, closely followed by the hitcher.

"Please let me go!"
"I'll let you go, but first you must say 4 words for me"
"ok, anything! what do you want me to say??"

I didn't see it.

Get it, I didn't ha ha ha ha I'm so funny, I didn't he he he, I watched it years ago and didn't understand how the film wasn't nominated for any Oscars.

Really, the portrayl of a blind warrior was moving, eloquent and touching.
