It was nothing LIKE Star Trek! Other than being set in space, that is.
If anything, it was nearer to Star Wars.

Then they decided it was time they found Earth....but they couldn't stay there because of the Psylons (or whatever they're called) so they dumped the kids with their superhuman abilities and flew away.

I didnt watch it on Sky but I have seen it. It was a mini series on the Sci-fi channel, kind of a pilot for a new series. 13 episodes have been ordered and will air on the US Sci-fi channel later this year. So expect a 2005 air date over here.
