Has it already started?

BAR have been really coming on in leaps and bounds this season- I think it would be accurate to say that if they can combine a few pole positions with a good pit stop stragtegy, Button will be winning races this year. The only problem really is that the car just doesen't have pace after the first fuel stops, so losing out is often likely. A few more laps worth of fuel, combined the pace shown in the first few laps of the San Marion GP will equal victory- a lot of aerodynaminc progress is being made as well.

F1 may have only seen one good race this year, but I am convinced that there will be more competition from BAR and Renault this year, possibly McLaren, if the B-spec car is up to anything.

And now he's just lost his front wing, that really was reckless. I think I must have put the Murray Walker curse on him when I made that last post.

Well it looks as though Sato is going to get his first podium. This is what I mean when I say I like watching young drivers working their way up the ladder, it's brilliant when they finally start to make it.

Well, the two McLarens are out again. Thankfully the new car will be unveiled next week.

I don't think it matters how many rule changes the FIA make, as much as I hate to say it, Shumi is the main problem. It's a shame that he's being ridiculed for his own success, but the fact remains that F1 would be better without him.

The only other thing that I think could help, is if the teams had a limited budget for the season. I think around £80,000,000 would be a reasonable budget for the teams, as it would balance everything out.

If the FIA added in more rules on how teams are structured, then Ferrari's domination would be decreased: Barrichello is an obvious second driver. Schumacher is treated far better than he is, and Barrichello is good enough to be closer to Schumacher in the points. He's just treated in a different way. It was the same with Irvine at Ferrari a few years back, except in '99 when Schumacher broke both his legs in an accident and Irvine was let to win the title, coming very close.

When Schumacher retires, F1 will become more competitive because he will no longer be competing, and Ferrari will have to employ two drivers who will not be treated in the same way: They way they rever Schumacher is amazing, and without this reverance the other teams may well catch up. That is, if the cars are improved a fair bit.

I just want some kind of battle at the end, to increase my heart rate for a few minutes, like last week.

And I've decided that F1 would be 300% better without Ferrari

Indeed- Come on Button. I think that despite he's only fifth on the grid, he could challenge for a podium, looking at Sato's clumsiness and Raikonnen having so many reliability problems with the McLaren.

I know that F1 often has a foregone conclusion, but I like to see a good race. Optimistic I may be, but what I like is a good race. And there are highlights from last week's BTCC races at Oulton Park on afterwards- should be worth watching if the F1 isn't, seeing the madness and crashes that went on there...

I might watch it again this week, despite the fact that nobody seems to think it'll be a decent race.

C'mon Button!

If it's a warmer day, the drivers using Michelin tyres will have a far better getaway, so we may well see a good battle around the start between the top 5, if not then there should be some happenings around laps 8-15 for the first pit stops. This doesen't look a very good race, but if the Renaults and BARs challenge Ferrari, then it may well be.
