Nintendo have done it with the Game Boy, Game Boy Colour and now they are to release Game Boy Advance.
Sega have also been in the handheld computers market with the GameGear.
So, come on sony, I really think you should start making one! Think how good it will be to have a younger PS2 in your hands! Also, i'm sure you could do some tricks between younger and older PS2 together.
Sony may have been put off with the diaster of Pocket Playstation, if this is the case i suggest you put it behind you and start a fresh.
Has anyone heard news about their being a handheld from Sony then?

It's an interesting thought whether Sony will enter the hand held market again. Nintendo are so dominant in that particular niche that it would be a daunting task.
However, it didn't stop Sony breaking into the console market in the first place. However, with the estimated $800,000,000 loss they are making in the first 12 months of the PS2 launch, I think it will be a while before they enter the fray again.
But who knows? Maybe that's what they meant by the third place?
