I lost my internet access about a month ago for some odd reason, this happened at the same time as uninstalling iMesh and the adware that comes with it. I assumed it was just co-incidence and today installed iMesh again.
I got all this horrible popup rubbish and decided Kazaa lite was, indeed, the daddy. So I uninstalled it and did the custom installation to get rid of all the spyware too, but after the restart which you need to do to get rid of all the stuff and save changes, my internet explorer no longer worked.
There is this adware called new.net which you will see in your ad/remove programs menu, and also in C:/windows - when you remove this is brings up a box saying "removing bla bla bla" and then "Restoring network settings". However with iMesh installed your network settings are fine. This nasty adware messes up your network settings so you no longer have internet access. Evil scum!
I had to fook with my settings for ages to get them working, and finally reinstall internet explorer to get back online.
If you have iMesh already, do not uninstall it as the same might happen to you, and Icarus can't help us all. If you do not have iMesh do NOT get it.
Warning complete.
It removes the Gain adware and the dating city stuff, but not the harmful bad things.
