You have the choice of playing ANY part in any film, past, present or future.
For me it would have to be the role of Thomas A. Anderson, aka Neo, in the upcoming film The Matrix 2, currently planned for release in 2002.
I wouldn't necessarily get all the best lines, in the original the only memorable ones that Keanu Reeves had were: "Guns, lots of guns", and "I know Kung Fu."
Even I reckon I could have acted those lines better. (Qualification: I played Lysander in my school production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, so of course I'm an expert).
However, I'd get to learn martial arts (if only in a very sketchy way), play with 'lots of guns' (boy's dream, innit?), and probably get to know Trinity a bit better in the sequel.
Plus the buzz of being in a surefire blockbuster, and the fun I'd probably have making it, these are all good reasons why I'd choose that particular film and role.
and if i couldnt be Bobby D then i'd be John Travolta in 'Battlefield Earth' which i think is actually a very good film.

Probably go for a character in Ghostbusters. Ray is my favorite because he's so eager to catch the spooks and he knows all about them too. Just lighting up those particle accelerators would be fun.
Don't cross the streams....
