Paradox: had a similar problem.

generally the shift key isn't that creative. i don't think it would go on and off quite like that, mine get's stuck a fair bit. could be that but other possibility is a joke virus. they have interesting results.

You didn't need to post, the title says everything!

Sounds like your shift key is sticking. The long term solution is to send your laptop off to be fixed.

In the meantime I suggest remapping shift to the caps lock key - that way when your shift sticks it won't do anything, and you'll still be able to get capitals. However you won't be able to use caps lock, but that's no biggy.

I can't remember how to do this, but my friend Luke does, so I'll ask him.
