How draining on your bandwidth is collecting up all the .data and .php files when you use the include method? How much extra time and resources are taken up gathering the files together from the server to the browser? I think I explained that right.

None, if I understand you correctly. The include method is server-side - the server reads the included file from disk or cache, and executes the instructions within. This may or may not change the final html response that gets sent to the client browser. The only performance penalty is incurred by the server having to read/execute the file, there is no inherent bandwidth penalty.
