A bit long I know, but hey I think it is quite good. It was just a bit of fun after all.

A Walkthrough on ‘How To Survive Buying A Product At Currys’

Indeed this is a hard task that will require two main elements in your mental attitude:

1. Will Power
2. Bravery and Courage

Mission 1: Buying your first product from Currys, the well known electrical store.

You begin your mission like any other. You’re outside in the car park; a few strangers walk past chatting. It’s a rainy day and its also quite bleak and that wind that is now aside you doesn’t help. But this is beside the point, you aren't here to admire the scenery around you, you are on a mission, a mission to buy a product from the innocent Currys…

You approach the door, be alert, don’t make foolish decisions to turn away and go into another department, you are here now, you must continue! You suddenly see it - the giant red sign saying ‘Currys’ - you will also notice the shiny, silver automatic doors beneath the sign, it’s the only way in. A couple of strangers push past you in the street, if you are going in now is the time. Start to walk towards the door, be brave, fearless even. As you approach the door a small little child runs out on to the street screaming about an evil eye and a knife. He quickly passes, but then just as you were about to enter the store relentless, he once again appears and warns you of an eye, a green blood shot eye, always watchful, with maximum attention on whoever happens to walk through the door and enter the store. He will go on and he will speak of the eye, of course you shouldn’t believe this young child, his imagination has obviously gone wild with him. He will now begin to plead with you and requesting you stay away from the store, but you obviously shouldn’t believe him, there is no reason to after all, is there?

You approach once more; suddenly the doors fly open just like before, you may jump. Nobody leaves the shop; you will soon realise that it was merely you opening the automatic door and you continue…

You hear a laugh from the store somewhere, do not be afraid. You have gone too far to turn back now. Besides buying your first product should be a simple and easy task that should only take a few minutes. But as you will soon realise it isn’t that easy, you have to search for your product in this store, which now looks very vast and it even has seemed that it has grown since you last looked at it from the outside. As you continue your way through the jungle of software and hardware, many different aisles approach you, but which one is the one you are looking for? Suddenly there is laughter again, you jump, your heart beats faster, and then you hear it, a sound of a knife or sword being drawn from a case.

Outside, by this time the storm is fully overhead, the sounds of this mighty storm conceal the laughter and seem to make matters worse, because now you can’t hear anything else but the rain heavily hitting the roof of the shop. What if someone approaches, but you can’t hear them because of the storm? You now need to be more alert than you will ever be in this mission. As you approach the end of the aisle you will notice a window, use this opportunity to have a look outside, it’s probably like a dark desert of water by now.

You have now looked long enough, you have seen many different items in this store and you may think that you are familiar with it, but you are wrong, there is one area you have not yet seen. But as I said you have searched long enough, it is time you ask that shop assistant at the desk you may have noticed by the front of the shop when you entered.

You approach the desk that says in bright bold colours ‘Customer Service’. You should now be able to identify some characteristics of this shop assistant; he has a neat sharp beard, with an equally sharp moustache that is a perfect fit for his mouth and nose. You will now also notice that he is wearing earrings that actually look like golden rings hanging from his ears. Soon you will notice a bandanna on his head, again a very neat job, tied perfectly at the back of his head, only allowing a few stray hair strands to see the light of the day, but most is concealed. Then you will see the main feature of this man; he has a patch over his eye. Very odd indeed, but it is rude to stare, it is time for you to ask him where your product is.

You ask politely, “Excuse me Sir, but could you tell me where a certain product is?”
He responses in a grunt, you must, must take this as a yes, do Not offend this man.
“Erm… I am looking for some Re Writable CDs, do you have them here Sir?”
Once again he replies in grunt mode and then he will point to a certain section in one of the aisles. You head the way he pointed…

Suddenly a bright, cheerful boy appears in the store out of the blasting winds and heavy rains, he skips in and heads for the stand labelled “Half Price On Games”.

Soon you notice the man at the desk, who was meant to be serving you suddenly look and focus on the young boy. The product that you did manage to find, with little help from the assistant appears to have the wrong price on it. To complete your mission, you must get it for the lowest price possible and £29.99 is not acceptable at all. You must re-approach the man at the desk and query the price. But as you approach him again he seems to have been distracted by the young boy who is still looking through the cheap games on the steel stand. His one eye, remember the other one is concealed by his patch, is absolutely fixed on the boy, obviously it wouldn’t be wise to ask him about the price right now, so remain in the shadow of the nearby aisle. Soon you can see something developing between the boy and the man at the desk. You will probably now notice that the boy has realised that this man is staring at him with maximum attention, the boy then picks up one of the games and begins to read the back of it and look at the screenshots of the game. The man at the desk has now noticed that he doesn’t have the full attention of the boy and begins to grunt quite loudly towards the boy, the boy turns towards the man, but nothing happens he just stares… and so the boy returns to his browsing. Suddenly the laughter begins once again, the same laugh you heard before, but this time you are in a position to see where it is being produced from, the man at the desk! Be on high alert now, its crucial for the next part of the mission. Then you see it, what the first boy saw, whom you saw running out of the shop screaming. The man at the desk will begin to remove his patch from his eye, but he won’t do it gently he will just tear it off in rage. That’s when you will see what is concealed within the patch, the eye. The same green, blood shot eye the first boy warned you about. Laughter is still coming from the mouth of the man who has now grabbed the young boy’s attention fully; the boy drops the game he was looking at on the floor. But the worst is to come; the boy is scared and will be going white. Then you notice something on the mans face moving, where the patch was there is now an eye, the green one and now it should be obvious to you that this man has no control over it as it begins to vibrate ferociously in its socket with vengeance. It doesn’t stop vibrating until the boy has left the shop, but he doesn’t just leave the shop he runs and screams and screeches about the eye! The man’s face now appears very satisfied with what he has managed to do. He then replaces the eye patch with a new one and looks around the shop for you! Remain in the shadows until he has gone back to his usual stance. Then you hear a noise, not laughter this time, but a familiar noise, definitely one you have heard before in this shop, then you realise, the knife sound! Suddenly something in the man’s hand catches the light, the knife… he begins to spit shine it, just as if it was a boot.

You now realise that the product is not worth this trouble and it may even cost your life and you probably by now just want to get out of there as soon as you can, and never see that eye again. But no doubt the image will remain in your head for an eternity.

At this point of the mission you may start to think things like, why did Currys ever hire such a man for the job, did they not want customers? Maybe he threatened them, maybe he… STOP right there, there is no time for thinking you must get out as soon as possible!

Here is a plan:
Over in one of the aisles you will notice a stack of manuals for games and other books, if you knock them over, this will act as a distraction and will allow you to get out in perfect time and you will be safe, but it is risky. Keep an eye out for the man at the desk whilst you do this because he is doing the same thing to you.

Once you have carried out this plan immediately run for the silver, automatic door and get out, you will hear laughter and possibly blades being drawn, but don’t look back and just run, from him and his eye.

You think you haven't completed the mission? Well you have, you never did need to buy an item at the store, it was just a test to show how much courage you had and how brave you are, you will need it for the next mission.
