Hay all,
As its nearing half term I though over half term I would finish my http://stevesmiscellany.8bit.co.uk website using dynamic webpages. Basically what I want is for me to be able to place files up and for the pages to add content automatically.

For example:

I have a site map page, which I would like to do the following: access the directorys and put there names as headings with all the HTML pages within these directories hyperlinked to underneath. Also, on pages with images as content I want a similar system but rather than link to the images I want the page to display them, preferably with the correct size perameters.

However, there is 1 catch, my host does not support PHP, Perl, and other CGI executables other than Escapade. I though it may be possible to use javascript? I would rather not switch hosts, as my current is free with no banners, and personal subdomains. But, if it would be easier to use PHP or similar then I could change hosts (any suggestions?).

All help is much apreacicated,
S.A.

Ah, I not really willing to spend any money on it.

Anyway, How would I do what I wanted with any code (PHP etc)?

Yeah, I know, but...

I thought I may be able to use onloads and spacers etc to create the desired effects

Dynamic pages are where the server generates the HTML code allowing you to do stuff like list directories and so on...

Javascript is browser based so it can only do stuff using the browser like add basic cookies and make annoying stuff that follows the mouse...

You need PHP, ASP etc to make a dynamic page. Well, as far as I know you do...
