As a member who's been reigstered here almost 7 years, I'm probably the only one who remembers SR and their news section. It use to be on the front page, where they would post news articles. Can't remember what happened to it, obviously gone now but I kinda liked it. It helped me stay updated with what was going on. You see I don't play lots of games these days. I'm not a subscriber to lots of gaming magazines like you lot and I dont go to sites like gamespy or ign. So I was wondering if there's some way we can bring it back, even if it's just a thread.

I use gamesindustry.biz for the serious (usually boring) stuff regarding gaming, but they get good stories sometimes and always appear to check their sources.

I keep an eye on gamerankings.com to see which game I might get next on the 360 (it ranks games by review scores, and once you've sorted a list of games you just click on the game title to access all the reviews, over 100 reviews in some cases).

I use xbox.com and playstation.com forums regularly for hints and tips on games I own and to give help when I feel like it for those stuck on games.

I use this forum just for giggles most of the time, but I value most opinions/ideas on here as its one of the few multi-platform forums around where 'console wars' are discussed rationally (as opposed to froth-mouthedly) and the faces are familiar. But mostly I surf by to see if anyone has posted anything interesting.

Once I've done the rounds on these sites each day I generally head for more genre/game specific sites concentrating on titles I'm interested in, surf by my clan site to catch up on gossip, then hit the front page of IGN just to see if there's anything eyecatching, but overall if you want something 'newsmonkeyish' try gamesindustry.biz.

I suppose it's better than nothing :) a thread with a list of links for all your gaming needs. Hmm wonder if I can do something for the Movies & TV thread.

You're not the only one, Mr Machie! News Monkey was quite good, but then I guess you only need to make your way over to IGN, Gamespot or one of the industry magazine websites to find news.

Perhaps we could have a list of news websites on this forum which is made a sticky?
