Damn, I am so sad and shocked to hear this news :(
He was a legend of a player and I was fortunate to see him play with a host of football legends at a charity match, I also managed to get his autograph and have dinner with him in the evening.
He is a great man and a true fighter on the pitch. Lets hope he overcomes this and beat's the terrible illness.
My thoughts are with his family & friends.

It's good to hear that he's on the road to recovery, though.
Damn, that's sad news, he's only in his mid 50s. He has always been one of my favourite players.
Heh I went down Butlins somewhere in Wales years ago for a holiday.
I did this Footie training thingy which he was coaching at the end of it I got an autograph from him, it was quite a long time ago but i remember him being very polite.

I read in the Liverpool ECHO today though (and I'm sure it was in various other papers) that he is on the road to recovery already.
I just wish the best for him, and everyone concerned with him.
