I'm getting a bit bored of the big panning battle scenes, where the two armies close in on each other and *gasp* start hitting each other! They've been done to death (and to perfection in Return of the King), so much so that they've lost all spectacle any more. Still, I like Pitt (as an actor, you benders) and it's a pretty good story to work on, so there's some hope.
Wolfgang Peterson... should I have heard of him?

Next you'll be telling me that Paul Atriedies wasn't played by Jason Connery.

Yeah, the trailers aren't really doing anything for me. Seen it all before.
Come on! He did "Die Hard in the presidential plane" - Airforce One.
Troy - I'll pass, and wait for it on DVD.

No, that's Jurgen Prochnow (is that spelt correct?), he's also the captain of the u-boat in "Das Boot."

It is not a WW2 movie though.

Hunt for the red october is good.
I agree that big battles are looking less convincing, the larger that they get and more frequent they appear on screen. Personally I want the close and personal savagery as seen in Braveheart, not the namby pamby CGI love fest that most films now offer us.
If only LOTR trilogy was a 15 or an 18. Why can't they make two versions of films: one for kids with flowers and perfume and then one with gore, and eleven nudey love scenes.

good. 'Tis a marvellous movie that everyone should see :)

Not really, I'm at work after a long weekend :(
