Along with Kung Fu Panda came this game, now the Lego series has done very well for it’s self over the past few years. With Star Wars holding it’s price very well and the more recent Batman game getting some good praise. So how does Indy fare when he turns into Lego and relives the 3 original films.
I have to say it does ok, nothing to blow you away but it is a fun, simple adventure game with a lot to unlock and keep you interested for the amount it will cost you. The game has all three of the films for you to play in, either starting at the beginning and moving on level by level, or you can skip to your favourite movie and relive all them great moments in Lego. We all know the Indy was about as cheesy as it gets, and the great thing with the Lego games i find, is that they offer a lot of simple humour that keep them different from other games. I love how the enemies or you turn into Lego pieces when destroyed. Every character that i could think of was included at some point in the game and they have their own abilities, so girls can jump higher, others can dig, Indy has his whip to get over gaps. You have control over two characters in a level and this keeps things more varied for a while, having to switch between them to complete the puzzles. Once a level has been completed you can go back with any characters you have unlocked and replay it (give a bit extra life but only very dir hard fans would do this in my opinion).
The controls are very simple again, attack, jump, action, switch etc. It keeps things on a simple level and that is how this game has been made, it is based at children of course, but even adults will enjoy it. From the nostalgia of Indy, to the humour of the game. It is more a simple game to pick up and play, there is nothing that will have you ripping your hair out about and screaming at the TV, it is just a pleasant ride all the way through. Well, that is if you do not get bored of things staying the same, the levels offer a small variation in the puzzles you will come across and have much of the same all over. There are a few little curve balls here and there but it should not really give too much effort to get past the puzzles. So sadly for me, the game was great for the first 5 levels, then i got bored of building the Lego blocks or doing the same puzzle i did 3 levels ago, the exact same puzzle! Now this is only my opinion and i know plenty of you really like the Lego games. I have to say i really liked the Star Wars Lego game, but then i am a much bigger fan of Star Wars, i like Indiana but i do not have that many memories of it.
The game is not a let down and at the price you pay you do get a lot of game for your money. It will keep fans of the films, Lego series and casual players on this for some time. Enough to get your money’s worth and fill of the game. It does not inspire me to go buy the Batman game or the Complete Saga as i feel i might get bored with these as i did with this. Maybe it is due to as i have gotten older i lack the attention span for doing the same thing over and need more shooting and fast paced action. I still like the game and feel many players will like it, but i still sense there is a reason why the other games held their money better than this one.
