If you consider yourself a true Nintendo loyalist then I think then this answer should be no. And anyway, the big black box does have a number of mature games. But becuase of the cute'n'cuddley to mature games ratio they are over-shadowed. So overshadowed in fact that even games like GoldenEye and Perfect Dark, can't do anything about it. Nintendo has always had to contend with the public perception of the N64 and now that it is about to be not mereley pushing up daisys but practically rocketing them into orbit (and lets face it it's nearly extinct)
I happen to feel that Conkers Bad Fur Day, great as though the game is, is in actuallity an attempt by Nintendo to rid itself of this sweet as sugar image so as it does not hinder the GameCubes success. But they don't need to! The GameCubes going to be a huge success. There's no doubting it.
The GameCube certainly doesn't look like it is going to be carrying on this image of Nintendos. With games like Perfect Dark, Metroid and Zelda lined up it will be far from it! But as well as these great looking (and sounding) titles Nintendo is also going to have it's fair share of... you guessed it games aimed at the GC's yuonger audiences. I think this is fanatastic! The fact that Nintendo is going to be able to cater for all ages of gamer is definitely going to help it sell.

However your point is valid, Nintendo are sterotyped as a company who cater for kids market. Well nobody does these games better, at least as far as decent platforms go, unless you think Spyro and Crash on the playstation are better than Banjo and Mario. I believe that one of the reasons the N64 is cutesy is because the with the N64 Nintendo had to make Mass Market games (i.e. that could be bought by everyone) and also due to the fact that Nintendo has always concentrated on Gameplay as oppossed to using Gore and Violence as a way to sell games. However Perfect Dark and Conkers Bad Fur Day have broken down these boundaries.
On the Gamecube all markets will be catered for, as the games developers can now take the risk of making gorey games that can only be sold to a smaller proportion of the market(i.e. the adult sector) because the media will be cheap(i.e not cartridge based).
