Uploaded CV to a recruitment site (reed.co.uk) on Tuesday night.
Got a phone call from a recruiter Wednesday morning.
Went for interview Thursday afternoon.
Started work Friday morning 8am.

Cushty. Guess that's broadband for you...

FM, not much of a pension in that profession. Probably likely to get mowed down by a bunch of vengence people.

Still, makes interesting work eh? ;o)

Ah, but think about it. If he really were a government assassin, he'd have to hide his profession. And what's the last thing people would think you really do for a living if you told them you were a government assassin? Exactly.

Who've you got contracts on at the moment then?

I've had quicker. Signed up to a temping company years ago before I went to Uni, rang up in the holidays when I needed work - started the same day!

Answer below. Before that I was just contracting to the highest bidder but I always fancied working for someone who could offer a bit more security and a nice pension plan.

I don't even have a CV. The jobs I've gone for in the past have all been no brainers. First ever job interview was for the Inland Revenue as a keyer and wasn't even an interview, just had to fill in seemingly endless forms and do a test thing before showing how well I could type (scored amazingly well, they hired me on the spot) They wanted me to do three weeks training (later changed to two weeks) and, despite the job being after college hours, the training was typical start at 9am crap, so I couldn't do it, so I couldn't take the job.

Second job interview was for ODEON cinemas, didn't get it. Third was for the Inland Revenue again, this time I didn't even need to do a test. Worked there for 10 weeks until my contract ran out (believe me, they wanted me to stay, they were so far behind, but I was sick of it)

Now I'm back there, working a 10 MONTH contract...

Great that I can get a job dealing with NI numbers and other confidential items as well as dealing with life changing benefits and all that and not even be required to have GCSEs. Woo!

I'm looking for a job, well should be soon.
Dropping out of uni, well taking a suspension as I missed the first semester of my final year because I was ill.

Means I resit my final year after Summer so will need to get a job just to keep myself busy until then.
Need to change my CV and then start looking for jobs locally.
