Right, i am lookin to take up and instrument, for the fun of it, and would like a guitar of sorts, normal or electric, but probably not bass. So has anyoe got any recommendations of where i can get one for a relatively cheap price of course. And how should i go about teachin my self? Thanks

My advice would be to pick up one of those Gibson Les Paul Jimmy Page Signature Models on your way home from work. Not one of the replicas, one of the 150 that are aged by Tom Murphy. It should only cost you a few grand.

Young guitar? I didn't know they had to grow, I thought they were just made. Must be one of those organic ones...

I might get one on Saturday. These new fangled organic guitars are all the rage, I wonder how you feed it?

I think you just hook up your guitar stand to one of those bio-ports, and it feeds intravenously.

Slightly more on-topic - I don't actually like Les Pauls very much. So there.

At the moment I just have a simple Squire Strat and a 30W Marshall amp. As I said, it's pretty simple, but it's decent enough to get you started and the whole lot cost £290, which I think is pretty cheap. I bought them from my local music store though, RGM Music, but I don't know if they have a website.

All I need now is to find some spare time and actually learn to play the thing properly.

I didn't used to like them, but they are brilliant. You'll come to see this in time.

The new Jimmy Page signature has an ovalesque fretboard - the middle strings are higher than the others, as Page's was, so he could play it with a violin bow. That guitar is THE best.
