Many people loved Nintendo in the early days, Many of you will remmember playing Donkey Kong on the old Game and watch systems and (don't tell me you didn't loved it) and you would of thought boy Nintendo rule.

Many of you would of got yourself a NES and after playing the early Zelda and Mario games you would of said boy Nintendo rule.

Some of you would of got a Sega but many of you still would of got the good old SNES played Super Mario world and Killer instinct and then you would of said boy Nintendo rule.

But then came Playstation and many of the people who said boy Nintendo rule suddenly said that's enougth and said boy Playstation rule.

That is fine many people grow out of things and Nintendo may of been one of them. But some people who go boy Playstation rule also say and Nintendo suck. Do you really think that? Do you really hate Nintendo after they looked after you as a kid? Are they like your parents loved them when you were young but now you hate them?

Please try and remmember what Nintendo did for you and please stop writting "Why Nintendo will fail like the Dreamcast" I say this but it works both ways Nintendo fans stop dissing Playstation.

These machines both make people happy and if they do that then there can't be anything wrong with them now can they?

Here's to the future

You've got a point Dringo, many people have wrote off Nintendo. Thinking that Sony and Microsoft will rule the next Generation roost! However industry insiders know that Nintendo are alive and healthy, Sega themselves are now openly admitting theyre working with Nintendo on a number of Titles that should appear on GameBoyAdvance and Gamecube.
Nintendo have a lot of profitable Franchises, games that people follow like a religion and will make them buy that system e.g. Mario, Zelda, Pokemon. These give Nintendo an advantage over the other manufacturers.
Sega are now working with Nintendo on an RPG that will contain the mascots of both companys...Mario and Sega side by side, Princess getting it on with Sonic, well soon it will be a reality (not the last bit!).

Nintendo will give Microsoft a run for its money! Because to sell a game you need a character, Solid Snake is bigger than MetalGearSolid, LaraCroft is bigger than TombRaider! Mario is bigger than any one game, the same is true of Pikachu..if you make a game with either character in it sells buy the bucketload even if its only an average game!
If Microsoft produces average games, nobody will buy the X-box...not unless the X-box creates a star, and thats not easy! So Nintendo has the upper hand!

Dringos last point is also very valid, all these videogames systems are great the Playstation, N64, Dreamcast and PS2. You should buy the system you want based on the types of games you like, and what system they tend to be on (Based on budgetary constraints of course!).

If you want to play Z.O.E. or cant wait for Metal Gear Solid 2 buy a PS2.
If you want to play Perfect Dark, or Hey you Pikachu then buy an N64!
If you want to play Shenmue buy a Dreamcast!
...etc...

All these systems have great games so the bad feeling are uneccessary.

Depends what you like in games though really, doesn't it.

I like that fat lil plumber boy, and I enjoy his games.

Maybe it's because I like that style of game. Wandering around strange lands collectings stars to open doors etc.

Or in the early Mario games running along jumping on baddies.

I guess I just like the bright colours and cutesy tunes that come with Mario games, and others by Nintendo and Rare.

I like the way they play, they've always brought a smile to my face.

If it doesn't appeal to you, then fine.

You'll change. :-p

All rise for the judge, Meka_Dragon in the witness box, NOW, please, for crimes against poetry.

By the way, I was brought up on Sega, then went to PSX, and have now gone back to Sega with my DC. In between I have been playing PC games since I got my first PC circa 1985.

I played on a SNES once, and played on an N64 a few times, never liked it. Cutesy graphics always put me off.

Megadrive was always better than the SNES, PSX and N64 always had a good battle to stay on top, and neither ever won that battle so I give up bashing Nintendo seeing as it's so pointless, although I can dig at Nintendo who brought out a '64-bit' console that still couldn't beat the '32-bit' Playstation, but for graphics the DC beats them both. (128-bit, what do you expect?).

After 6 years Sony let me down badly with the PS2 launch and the first releases for it, even worse than Sega did with it's CD-X, CD addon and Saturn, so I forgave Sega and went back to my gaming roots, and glad I did too.

The only war now is between the PS2, GC and the X-Box to see which can win the hearts of gamers. I've ruled the PS2 out, (for many reasons) but look with interest towards the first releases for the GC and the X-Box.

Until Nintendo lose the plumber, I will always have a dig at them. To me, Mario stands for all that is bad about games. That's just my opinion. But I'm not the only one in the world to have that opinion, so flame away and see if I care.

There once was a lad called Dringo,
Who couldn't get to grips with this thingo,
So he pressed "Post This Message" thrice,
Which was not very nice,
But at least he did not try to singo.
