I can heartily recommend an upgrade to a dolby digital processor.

I've got my psx2 connected via fibreoptic to a Yamaha surroundsound 5.1 channel hifi amp and 'some' speakers. Its not for the budget minded, but the sound is super f4rom games and dvds. Very immersive.

I'm definitely looking forward to hearing car/engine sounds getting more distant behind me in GT3.
