First, let me explain: in our uni hall, our block is situated outside a church, with a mini forest in between. At the start of fresher's week, I thought, "This is crap, all I can see are branches" - but over time I got used to it, and actually appreciated it - the trees acted as a "barrier" between a small path and the windows outside our rooms.

Anyway, today they're sawing the trees down, using chainsaws, ropes, etc....and seeing a full grown tree cut down metres away from you is a sorry sight. OK, they were old and most of them were dying, but it's surprising that I'm going to miss them now.

It also means our room windows will be vulnerable to any kid with a pocket full of stones,... but that's something for the future.

For now, let us mourn.... the death of my uni hall trees.

My next door neighbour cut down the tree just in front of their house. Makes the road look kinda bare. I don't think they actually got permission from the council though, so if they find out...

*laughs*

The idiots.

(I haven't told the council though, that wasn't an evil laugh ;)

They're cutting down a load of trees in the water park I walk through to college as well. It looks really bare now. I can't see any reason for doing it at all, they weren't overgrown or causing anyone any hassle. I think the people who work there just get bored easily.
