Heh. You really think the more rabid anti-drugs people will do anything so extravagent as paying attention to the actual facts?
This is very interesting news, and the sort of thing that begs the question; why do we not have any standard for determined "how much is too much" when it comes to dope? We have it for alcohol, and cannabis use is just as widespread.

Yeah, compare one death from cannabis compaired to the following:-
9/11 death toll: 2,976
UK Death toll from smoking since 9/11: 280,000 (approx.)
UK Death toll from alcohol since 9/11: 70,000 (approx.)
Global death toll from conventional weapons since 9/11: 1,166,666 (approx.)
Global death toll from starvation since 9/11: 38,325,000 (approx.)
Global death toll from HIV/AIDS since 9/11: 30,660,000 (approx.)
total: 70,501,666
(this from 9/11 is the only reference I have at hand)
Its not a great deal in the grand scheme of things is it?

But, 6 joints day for 11 years? That's a hell of a lot ...
*whips out calculator*
... 24108, to be exact (allowing for 3 leap years). Even I don't smoke that much.
*ahem*
Obviously it depends on what form of cannabis he was smoking, but if he smoked half a dozen joints a day, it is safe to say he was a very heavy smoker. I wager the toxicity built up in his system over time.
What an idiot. There's fun, and then there's addiction.
