Anyway, broadband. That wonderful thing.
Here's the scenario;
Two computer that are 2 rooms apart, on the same floor. We want both computers to be able to connect to broadband.
Not necessarily at the same time though - it's just I don't want to go on that one to be able to go on broadband.
I'm sure you know what I mean.
What stuff do we need?
Down to every little thing.
We're thinking about going with Pipex, as we've heard a good bit about it and its wonderfulness. The package we're going for can be found here;

Links to anywhere we can get the required hardware would be much appreciate. Cheers.

Ok. So its only sockets that have ADSL and phone on then. Look on www.adslguide.org.uk as it does suggest you need to use a filter on every connection that has a phone etc.

Don't take this the wrong way adrian - but that statement isn't true.

Pipex are good. If you only need one PC on the internet at a time then why not get the USB modem package from Pipex and then swap over the modem between the PC.
Pay £17.57 and get a USB modem and 2 microfilters, good price. Remember that you need a microfilter on every phone socket that has a telephone, sky box etc. If you leave a socket that is in use with out a microfilter you will get disconnect from the internet when its used.
Other options that have been mentioned is to have a router that can share the connection. This involves spending at least £50 on a decent router and then buying microfilters and network cards if needed.

Doubt it. Most decent ISPs are charging £33-35. I have Pipex and have 1mb for £28.95 :D. Was a special offer before 1mb was out so I only have that price until the end of October.
Bulldog only offer there services to 450 exchanges for some of their products. I think that Bulldog like doing special cheap offers and then raising there prices up. Bulldog would be good if you lived in central London as you could get 6mb at home.
Look at Pipex, Nildram, Zen, Freedom 2 Surf, PlusNet and Eclipse for ADSL packages as these are top ISPs.

All day 1 Mbps seems to be £33+ a month from everywhere else.
You have the home network option, where you can go on the net on either one at any time, or on both simultaneously.
Or you can use Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) and plug a modem into one and then connect the other PC to the first PC and use the internet through it. This would need the PC with the modem to be on when you wanted to go on the net with the other one.
For the first option you need an ADSL modem.
For the second option you need a router, preferably with a built in modem, and network cards in both PCs, plus a couple of cables (unless you get a wireless router in which case you would use wireless adapters).
For the third one you need network cards in both PCs and a crossover cable.
The fourth option is to have two wireless adapters, one per PC, and use ICS.
See the networking thread by Quazi where I posted lots of information and links. Any more questions just ask.
