It wasn't good.
It was an absolutely astounding, brilliant, witty, exicting, jaw-dropping, adrenaline pumping rollercoaster of a ride that finish off such a marvellous piece of cinema beautifully. The character's, the props, to setting, the visual effects - Brilliant!
Samwise Gamgee was the true star of this closing story though, I actually sympathised with him and the ordeal he's had to go through. Thats why I love this trilogy, it aint all about action and gore, its a truly moving drama with other bits mixed in.
I'd regard ROTK the best one out of the 3, Visual Poetry is used it to such a brilliant standard, Like when 'Pippin' was forced to sing, when the camera switch's to an army fighting a war they cannot win.
Muh anyway, I don't think i've ever watched a film that has my heart beating fast during the astounding action scenes. I actually felt the blood pumping all over my body. Now for a film to do that, it must be good enough.
Anyway.
LOTR = Star Wars, In our generation of time.
Wouldn't call it an astounding film, really. I suppose the Fellowship was my favourite. Personally, I prefer the original Star Wars trilogy.
There is only one ending. Isn't that obvious?
Anyhoo, that was the ending of the book, so kind of pandering to the readers, which is odd considering the changes they made to the text.

You sound like Paul Ross.
When they got back to the shire would have been enough to finish it off, surely?
