Hay all,

After learning CSS I have now done a design from my site http://stevesmiscellany.8bit.co.uk . I want to know what you think of the design (colours?) and also if it works in other browsers as well as IE.

All opions are much apreciated,
S.A.

All sorted now. Used good old HTML table backgrounds instead of CSS.

Another problem with the site, this time CSS. Im trying to get a box around text with boarders that match the rest of the site useing css, but it isnt desplaying the backgrounds. Below I will paste the code for the .php file (section that css is imported to) and css file

.PHP:

Steve's
Miscellany is a place where Steve (me) places all his crap he wants
to share with the world, from images to documents to features to
reviews. The Navbar below has to 2 main sections, images and documents,
and a sitemap link to let you find anything on the site. Enjoy!

.CSS:

/* CSS Document */

#title {
background: url(JPG/top.jpg);
background-position: top center;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-color: #FFFFFF;
margin-top: 0px;
margin-bottom: 0px;
margin-left: 0px;
margin-right: 0px;
}
#left {
background: url(GIF/backside.gif);
background-position: top left;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
top-margin: 10px;
padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px;
}
#right {
background: url(GIF/backside2.gif);
background-position: top right;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
top-margin: 0px;
padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px;
}
#textbox_r1_c1 {
background: url(GIF/TEXTBOX/textbox_r1_c1.gif);
}
#textbox_r1_c2 {
background: url(GIF/TEXTBOX/textbox_r1_c2.gif);
}
#textbox_r1_c3 {
background: url(GIF/TEXTBOX/textbox_r1_c3.gif);
}
#textbox_r2_c1 {
background: url(GIF/TEXTBOX/textbox_r2_c1.gif);
}
#textbox_r2_c2 {
background: url(GIF/TEXTBOX/textbox_r2_c2.gif);
}
#textbox_r2_c3 {
background: url(GIF/TEXTBOX/textbox_r2_c3.gif);
}
#textbox_r3_c1 {
background: url(GIF/TEXTBOX/textbox_r3_c1.gif);
}

Ahh, I see. You've fiddled with the table code and organised it so it works.

Added in a 100% table with two rows and one column in the centre cell. Put the top image in the top row with top alignment. Put the navbar table (after setting the height to 100px) in the bottom row and valigned to bottom.

I've done the nav bar (fireworks generated code), but I'm having troubles aligning it to the bottom of the browser (in any res). I have it in a table and valign is doing bog all. I've uploaded the file to show you what i mean

All help is much appreciated.

OK, bar fiddling with some bits of code so it looks like it does in mozilla in IE as well I think ill get on with the rest of the site.

I not sure wether to have the navbar vertical to the side or horizontal under the logo (itll be in the same style as the logo).

Oh, and cheers Turbonutter.

Actually, now I look at it I agree that it looks better in Mozilla. Now I have to workout a way to make it look like that in IE. Hmm...
