I tried, (or should that read tired) a demo of this "build-your-own-circuit-and-race-it-game", and found it instantly addictive.
Strange, then, that it does not seem to be available in the high street.

It's more than likely a pre-release demo. I've played demos of games many months before they come out, its nothing out of the ordinary. Try doing an internet search on the game maybe?
