As an old player of a few Mafia text based games this sounds interesting to me! In order to set up such a game you will need knowledge in PHP and MySQL, if you do not have the knowledge then you sure can learn with time and patience as I did!
We provide free hosting which has unlimited bandwidth and space that is designed to be accessed via a Freeola internet connection. If you do not have this then have no fear! We provide our VIP Hosting service from just £3.49 a month which is very competitive!
You will need a MySQL database in any case, which is £3 per month if you are using our free hosting, or £2 per month if you are using out VIP Hosting.
You will also need a domain name if you do not already have one, however you can use one of our free Freeola 500 domains whilst your game is in development stage.
As for crons we are looking into providing this service in the future, but until then you can certainly use a free cron website that offers this kind of functionality free just to poll your cron script as often as you like!
