I saw a mini-whirlwind once, when I was on holiday in Northumberland a few years ago. Not much to write about though, becuase nothing much got destroyed. :(
I haven't been looking out to see lately, but I ain't seen any tornadoes - we've had hail and thunder today mind...typical Cardiff weather.
There was a tornado in Longbenton here not long ago. Pity it didn't destroy half of it...
