Here we go? Is everybody ready?
The most ugly battle is about to be fought.

In the red corner we have the ever present Sony.
In the blue corner we have the newbies Microsoft.
In the yellow corner we have the historical Nintendo.

These are the companies that are left in the hardware of the console war, I can't say which is going to win, I would like Nintendo to win, but no one can say, Sony have done it before and microsoft can cough up money from any place in the world with the click of Bill's fingers.

Earlier this year I was quite sad when the company from the green corner was Knocked Out of the war and left as a company which solely makes software.

This is a topic just to ask that this is probably the most unpredictable war ever to grace the computer world, everyone has there favorite company, and as long as we all enjoy the trip I can't really see there being a loser, competitive sprit is what the market needs at this time of depression.

No more 'why ??? are going to beat ???' because nobody knows.

Thanks

What about Samsung's nuon, that can play computer games and DVDs but unfortunately there is only 2 units in the entire world

and i would like to clear this up the PS2 should not be known as a console according to Sony, it should be known as a home entertainment system because it does not just play games, you can play DVDs and access the internet soon (as you all know)

The Nuon is also a home entertainment system

Lets not forget the little Indrema guy in the green corner.

Surely the faulty PS'2 were down to a mess up by the company that produced the components. Sony really should get better supliers next time........

But to be honest, which I try to be..., the PS2 is

Is it really worth Ł300? Be honest! I can see it being wothr buying one when the price comes down and better games come out though.

People expect the PS2 to be sooooo

Agreed.

True, but the DC did push the limits of what was considered console gaming. Do you think Sony or Nintendo would have put modems in their console if Sega hadnt done it first? IO guess we'll never know......

These 'Console Wars'

Is it not too late for developer confidence to be restored?
It wouldn't surprise me if developers left the Sony bandwaon and concerntrated on the X and the'Cu

Does it matter how big the console is if the games are good?

Console Wars...that name must have been around for ages but only recently have I heard so many people raving about it so darn much! I don't favour any company. I know that might sound a bit 'French' as it were but I don't. I like Nintendo, Mario is great, and will always have a 'place in my heart' if I can say that with out being too girly!

Sony, seem to me like the 'all take and no give' company...they make the console, great, BUT, what games have they produced...the fat cats of Sony are sitting in Japan looking out the window at PS2 bilboards realising that they have made a load of money, whilst people, and I am not one of them, find out they have a faulty PS2, a delayed game release schedule and more bad news!

Not all the PS2 were faulty though were they? I think a few thousand were a bit off, but what company doesn't have those problems! No doubt there will have been Faulty Dreamcasts and Nintendo 64's.

But to be honest, which I try to be..., the PS2 is worth it...I know I will be ever hated by Nintendo Fans, but it is true. The name of the console may be, to be frank, crap. But the games are getting there, we stared off with TTT, RRV, and SSX, all of which are enjoyable games. People expect the PS2 to be sooooo good that it wont have any bad or below par games. That will never be the case, how would the good games be good if there were no BAD games to compare them to...we would live in a terrible gaming world with every games being average....I shudder at the thought!

I am not too upset about Sega, don't get me wrong, I like them, (I had a Mega-Drive remember!), But I would much rather them stop producing consoles and have enough money to keep on supplying good games rather than run off the scene all together.

These 'Console Wars' won't stop for a long time, Nintendo, mainly because of Pokémon (the little buggers), have enough money to mess up the Gamecube 4 times over! Sony have got the PS2 up and running and despite dodgy titles like Moto and Driving Emotion, the money will start to roll in once developer confidence is completely restored! I don't know WHAT to think about Microsoft, I don't hate them, don't really like them...X-Box is too big, I have a make-up bag that is smaller than the X-Box so the bleedin' thing must be huge...:)

I huess we will still have to wait...roll on Entertainment Expo! If that is what it's called....:P

Basically, dont worry about Sega, they started off as a software company, then moved into hardware, and now they are going back to software again. Dont be surprised if in a few years they go back to the hardware side of things again.

BUT, they will still play an important part in the "console war". As i've said before, in my opinion, the company that gets the most support from Sega (which at the moment looks like the Big N) will win. I think this simply because, whether you like Sega or not, you have to admit they have made some of THE best games ever!
