Primarily for Tony, Ali, WebMaster or anyone else involved in the SR web site...

Have you ever considered updating the way that orders and accounts are processed on the web site?

By this, I mean holding people's information online (address, phone number, e-mail address etc. with the possible exception of credit card details) and simplifying the order process. There are numerous pages to go through when ordering - entering your address, credit card details, membership renewal, free gift, etc.

It gets quite tedious entering this information every time when you must already have it on file. Some of my personal pet hates are:

1. Being asked every time how I heard of SR
2. Being asked if I'd like to renew my membership, even if it has 2 years left to run

If I have recently renewed my membership for 2 years, and I now want to order a game, the question about renewing or extending is more or less irrelevant to me.

I think the whole process could be streamlined, with much of the information entry removed. Longer membership periods could be introduced, and information called up via either the membership number or an account number. Even if these changes only applied to members, it would be worthwhile, with the current system maybe remaining in place for non-members and 'one-off' customers.

An address book system would also be nice, where I could order a game myself, but have it delivered to someone else as a birthday present. I recently had to buy a PS2 game from Amazon and have it delivered to a friend who lives some distance away - a decision which I regretted; the game was more expensive than from SR, there was a horrendous delay in the despatch which meant the birthday was missed, and then it didn't arrive, meaning further delays while the problem was resolved.

Virtual Reddy's could also be stored with customer accounts, and exchanged online rather than by post or in a shop. A system like Amazon or dabs.com would be welcome, IMHO.

I think we'll be able to make most of these wishes come true...

We've been working on an improved ordering system for some time now and it includes most of what you have mentioned in some way or another.

It's due to go live next week...
