You're watching the Premiership? On ITV?!?
How can you stand it???
After seeing Match of the Day return for the Yeovil-Liverpool game on Sunday, it suddenly hit me just how cack Des Lynam and co. really are.
'Papers refer to them as one big "Boys Club"... And watching it last night, I just wanted HIT Andy Townsend for talking so "gayley" - like I did to he and Robbie Earle just about every-single week I force myself through that show just to see the goals, some 12-hours before they'll appear on SkuSports! :@
I mean, the commentator's don't even do it Live!
Where Sky will have an Alan Parry or even Chris Kamara covering every-single Premier League game on a Saturday afternoon - even if it's not live - ITV just had Clive Tyldsley and co. a videotape of the earlier game, and ask they to talk-over it then -- and I wouldn't be surprised if it was all hand-written for them, anyway!
It's true. Watch any highlights on ITV, and the commentary fits it perfectly. No-one ever gets cut-off at the same-time as the footage. It's continuous. Where as, with SkySports, voices are always fading-away and suddenly re-appearing. And if it's been a boring 90-minutes, despite the high-anticipations before kick-off, you can hear it in the way SKY's commentry teams are tiring in speech.
It's a joke - and we're forced to sit through it, basically!
Oh, how I'm glad this will be their LAST season of "exclusivity"!! :D
