EA are cheap gits.
Anyone remember the joke on Live that was Burnout 3? How poor were those servers? And supposedly these were improved over time until Battlefield 2 exposed what a complete pile of crap they still were.
Thankfully the time of companies being able to put out complete rubbish under a licence is starting to come to an end. They're more aware that a decent first title will pave the way for money making sequels. Also film companies seem to be being slightly more careful when choosing who they let use their licences.
Now we might actually get some decent Bond titles because Activision has now been given the rights to make the games.
If more licences can be wrenched away from EA I think we'll get better titles using those licences.
I loved to see EA lose as much money as they did over the Godfather delay because they are what's generally wrong with the computer game industry.
Thankfully new developers are being funded in ways similar to how movies are funded (by more than one backer) and this gives them more control over their products.
and yet EA do make some good titles and they do have an eye for a good non in-house title but then again so do any of the big players in the games industry.
Looking at the small but significant changes that are creepuing across the industry we can look ofrward to a time when EA is just a distant memory like the yuppie daftness of the 80's you can only 'big up' tat for so long before quality starts wins out, hopefully Sony are also taking note.
Here's to Ubisoft buying out EA in the future and the DICE staff walking out and starting another company where they aren't forced to rush out unfinished games.
Besides that I can say I'm fairly indifferent. I do like the Tiger Woods games and Burnout is a fun way to spend an hour or two.
I would've edited that directly into the title post but the edit function's screwing up again
