True but that is only memory performance. If I just up the FSB that would keep the CPU and RAM in sync.

heres a clip from the above article on THAT RAM sync thing:

"we were also forced to recognize that memory performance in asynchronous mode sank by around 15 percent against synchronous operation. It just shows that you can't rely just on the processor clock rate for getting the most out of your system."

Brilliant. There is a PC mag out at the moment that did a thoroughbred to 2996MHz using liquid nitrogen.
