Saw the advert for Sky One in 2004, and they have the new series of 24.

That means adverts, no Pure 24, and less people to talk about it with.

RUBBISH. come on BBC, steal it back.

BBC really know how to lose their ratings.

The official statement from the BBC.

Being replaced with "Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital" and "My Wife and Kids". I would take 24 anyday.

Actually if you think about it without adverts its only 42 mins per episode. In America they have quite a few advert breaks, smaller length than Sky One but more of them. As an episode of 24 runs for 1 hour with adverts, the show is still 1 hour as they include the adverts in the time.

God I can't stand Sky Ones adverts. They literally go on for five minutes. Sometimes I forget what I am bloody watching until it comes back finally after YET ANOTHER Dominos pizza advert. I swear advert breaks are getting longer and more frequent on terrestrial TV as well.

Damn BBC. Damn Sky One. DAMN HITLER!!

Are you trying to say that's a good thing?

No, but the whole point is an episode is suppose to be 1 hour and in the US and now on Sky One the episode will be on during a hour, even if the show is just 42 mins in most episodes.

It is a good thing... in America you are given the impression you are missing something but nothing important in those 5 minutes (there are 3 advert breaks) BUT on the BBC this clever 24 hour idea is lost and all it means to us brits is that we get 24 episodes over a day...

It is better this way... somehow.

The reason why BBC has lost the rights to 24 is because they no longer pay sky to encrypt there channels on satellite. This means that anyone in Europe with a dish can receive all the BBC channels for free. For the BBC to get the rights back they would have to either remove there channels from sky or pay for them to be encrypted, and they are not going to do either.

Continue this excellent work...
Brilliant! As usual the careful and intuitive production that Freeola puts into everything it sets out to do, I am delighted.
Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
