ive just bought 2 pairs of football boots off the internet. i was a bit short for choice (size 13 flippers and only about £40), but i found two pairs that had a bit of panash and attraction factor.

i got:

nike total 90 (studs- possibly the triangular version)

and adidas gammanova trx fg (blades)

ive always worn studs myself, but i was wondering what it is like playing in blades. (cant test them otherwise i cant return).

some people say they make it easier to kick, but have poor grip and others have said vice versa. just wanted to know what you think, cheers.

i play on really crappy, muddy pitches - therefore nike studs
although sometimes the frosty hard or quite hard spring summer pitches- therefore the adidas.

although i have size 13s, i have very thin ankles which is why nikes fit me well. they have wide fronts and narrow backs. never had trouble with either brand.

im not that much closer to deciding. i prefer the nike brand and style, but that doesnt count for much. theres only a price difference of a fiver.

basically i think i might keep both.

I've always worn studs, but I'm totally against any Nike football boots.

I'd try them both out first.

If you find that you don't like either of them, seel them on ebay and then look for a pair of Adidas Kaiser boots. They're about £40.

What surface do you play on?

I would say ditch the nike boots too.

Had problems with boots in the past but since buying predators I have always stuck with them.

Yeah, exactly what happened to me. Now I've got the Supernovas and I've vowed never to buy Nike boots again.

Ditch the Nike Total 90s now.

They're far too thin, they rip your heel apart, and studs aren't good for a number of surfaces.

Meanwhile, all Adidas boots are comfortable, easier to kick with, and blades are also generally better for varying surface use.
