Well, I'm back on the prowl for more help, or more accurately, a place to start.

I'm redesigning my site (again) and you can view the new layout / design at http://www.synae.com/indexv5.htm . However, I'd like to incorporate PHP and MySQL databases into it, but I've little to no idea how they work. Ideally, each game would have a 'record' in the database with boxart, developer info, release date and links to articles on the game that could be searched and viewed. Plus, just to add to the fun, a nice GUI to enter data and file locations.

This is a tall order, and no way am I expecting anyone to attempt it. But if someone could lay on a few tips on how to go about starting and what the simplest (if there is one) way of doing it is, I'd be highly grateful.

Poking bits in and out of databases is easy. Use blob type for storing images. What help do you need?
