Coding a program for my A-level coursework in Vb.Net and soon realised that an MDI application would be ideal for my needs. However, it's proving to be such a pain...

Ok, got my parent form, and a child form being displayed within no probs. However, I've now added a second child form, and when I go to display it (by selecting the appropriate item in a menu on the parent form) it doesn't show up and VB says this chunk of code isn't being run at all!

So, to experiment, I deleted the code that displays the first child form and changed it to display the other child form. What happens now? It still displays the first child form, even though there is absolutely no reference to it in any of my code!

I've read in a book that it's extremely unusual to have two different types of child form. Is it not possible? I hope this isn't the case as I want to have several different types of child forms! Am I not getting this whole MDI thing? Grr... :/

Thanks for the advice Icarus, but things are starting to take shape rather nicely now. :)

Well it should be possible, but maybe you could restructure your project so that only one form is visible at a time? If you are using tablegrids to display data, maybe you could place several in that one form.
