The thing is, you all go out and buy your consoles and for the first few months you enjoy those wonderfull graphics and sounds and you marvel. Then, only a few months after you bought the console, either another console comes out OR a new PC component comes out and suddenly your little box of wonder starts looking a bit shabby. You then have two choices, either go out and buy the new console and hope you will get a good price when you try and sell the old one with its masses of games, or you stick with it and watch it become more and more inferior, you then find yourself convincing you and everyone around you that suddenly nothing matters but gameplay (aka. playstation owners.) If this was the case then why have we progressed from the likes of the ZX Spectrum, that had some of the best gameplay out there! Dont panic though, I have the perfect remedy, buy a PC! There are so many games out there that you have got to find something you like. And lets face it, when you buy a new PC you dont only get a computer which is good for gaming as long as any console before you have to upgrade, you also get a decent internet machine (dont start whining dreamcast owners, im sorry but that is NOT internet access!) You also get something that can play MP3's and do word processing etc.
Finally, im sure that you are going to say that the main reason that people buy consoles is because they are cheap. fine, that would be great, if they actually were! Add up all of your equipment and games, I betcha it comes out at around the price of a new PC. I know that my friends have spent thousands on their N64's and Playstations.

Don't get me wrong I love my PC but in order to upgrade it to the most powerful graphics card I'd have to pay around £250, so in the end thats about the price of a console a year on various upgrades.
You are also forgetting the plug and play satisfaction you get with all consoles except the PSX, little or no loading times, just switch on the console and away you go, not to mention the lack of glitches, patches, key configurations that all have to be sorted out before you can enjoy a PC game.
Also the fact remains that the DC has been out nearly a year, longer in japan and the PC has nothing even remotley close to shenmue or REC:V
If you buy a PC today and don't upgrade it fairly soon modern games will have to low a framerate to enjoy whereas a console has games designed for the specs.
