Finally, im sure that you are going to say that the main reason that people buy consoles is because they are cheap. fine, that would be great, if they actually were! Add up all of your equipment and games, I betcha it comes out at around the price of a new PC. I know that my friends have spent thousands on their N64's and Playstations.

3)Expensive upgrades
4)Incompatibility problems
5)Bugs
6)Patches
7)Pointlessly sized boxes
8)Overweight manuals
9)No multiplayer without Internet
10)Expensive for online gaming
11)Need to install just about everything you plug in
12)Small monitors
13)Clunky keyboard control...
etc...etc...etc...need I go on?
You are also forgetting the plug and play satisfaction you get with all consoles except the PSX, little or no loading times, just switch on the console and away you go, not to mention the lack of glitches, patches, key configurations that all have to be sorted out before you can enjoy a PC game.
Also the fact remains that the DC has been out nearly a year, longer in japan and the PC has nothing even remotley close to shenmue or REC:V
If you buy a PC today and don't upgrade it fairly soon modern games will have to low a framerate to enjoy whereas a console has games designed for the specs.
